My Story

Sheldon was born in central Texas around the end of May 2019. He and his two siblings were in a shelter that was in the midst of a panleukopenia outbreak when they were six weeks old. An amazing animal activist/supporter (Lillie Raybon - she took the kennel pics) who knew about the outbreak contacted Super Hero Zeke and Olaf’s World - who put her in touch with the absolutely incredible Tiffany Maki from Texas Special Needs Pets. 

Sheldon and his siblings were rescued by Tiffany from Texas Special Needs Pets... brought to Houston, Texas, put in quarantine for two weeks, and miraculously didn’t come down with the virus. We had offered to foster this sweet little family... and we were soooo excited to meet Sheldon and his completely awesome siblings (his brother and sister are neurotypical and do not have any special needs). They all fit in perfectly with our family - and we had an amazing summer fostering all three of these beautiful kittens. His siblings - now called Xander (the charcoal male) and Willow (the silver female) were placed with an absolutely wonderful family together. 

We knew almost immediately that Sheldon fit perfectly into our family (we already had two special needs cats that love and play with Sheldon at a more gentle level - Paisley and Penny). Sheldon had bonded with us and we had bonded with him. He had us wrapped around his little paw - and he is never more than a few feet away from us. Thankfully we work out of the house and he is pretty much never alone! He is an incredibly sweet velcro kitty. Again, and always, we want to thank everyone for all the amazing, wonderful, humorous, and beyond heartwarming comments that we see and hear everyday from all of you. We wish that we could meet everyone and everyone could meet Sheldon... we are all in this journey together!!! ❤️
